How the film was made

The maker of “Messages from Gaza”, Attila Premiczky went to Gaza twice on his own initiative where he shot the raw material of the film alone or with some local help with two cameras. When cutting the film we tried leave it as raw as possible to show reality and not to catch the viewers by visual effects and tricks. That is why most of the finishing jobs were made by those who shot the film.

We feel that by making this documentary we undertook the role of the postman who deliver the messages of Gaza people to the world. It is because this film is about these people and about them only.

Distribution of the film

We wish to deliver thee two messages to the world in two different ways. We made a 52-minute version of it suitable for broadcasting and a somewhat longer, approximately 72-minute director’s cut version. We are planning to offer the national broadcasting companies of as many countries as possible the TV version and market the director’s cut on DVD in countries where it seems suitable.

Financing

Since the whole project was private initiative a person only supported by his artist agent we need financial support to achieve this goal. Although this was a real low budget production we need at least our cost reimbursed in order to offer the film free or at an as low a price as possible to national broadcasting companies and distribute the DVD at a very low price to reach as wide an audience as possible.
